- Get some type of cheese on your sandwich - typically mozarella or provolone. Cheddar accepted when on a croissant.
- Don't be scared by hot or sweet peppers, both are good...or no peppers at all.
- Get it dipped, not dry. You need that juice.
- Portillo's is always a safe bet, but try and venture off to the mom and pops of Italian Beef.
Jon living out on the Atlantic gets to enjoy plenty of delicious seafood and other food I don't get in the Midwest, but growing up in Chicago, I will always have two things he doesn't - the best damn deep dish pizza in the world (shout out to Lou Malnati's) and good Italian Beef.
