Have a Drink Friday - Guiness on St. Patrick's Day

My understanding is that St. Patrick's Day isn't that big of a deal for the rest of the world, but man, does America love it ever so much. As much as I enjoy a plethora of beers more, it's just a requirement to drink Guiness on St. Patrick's Day and something about it just tastes so much better on March 17th. I'm not sure if I've mentioned it here, but I was fortunate enough to enjoy a couple of pints of Guiness during layovers in Dublin, Ireland. I've always heard that Guiness in the UK is different than Guiness in the US, and then Guiness in Ireland is different from that, but Guiness in Dublin is a beer of its own. My instinct said, "of course it's possible, but how different can it really be?" All I will say is that I've now had Guiness at home, in England, and in Dublin and that Dublin-based Guiness was in a league of its own and by far the best. If you ever find yourself in Dublin, do yourself a favor and make sure you get a pint from a tap at least once. Guiness-StPats
